What Is Transdermal Hair Restoration™?

THR™ is a non-surgical, non-invasive, process in which a special transparent skin-like material called the Transdermal Skin Graft is created to the exact specifications of the thinning or balding area.  When completed, the Transdermal skin graft will become in essence a clear gas permeable "layer" of skin. Individual hairs exactly matched to your own in color and texture will be implanted at a fixed angle to the plane of the scalp.  This exclusive technology insures your reconstructed hair will have the normal lift and pattern as your healthy growing hair. Transdermal Hair Restoration™ is virtually a seamless transition between the growing hair and the hair that has been reconstructed, undetectable both visually and to a probing touch. THR™ has permanency without surgery, allowing individuals with larger thinning areas to eliminate surgical transplants and scalp reductions, as well as non-surgical methods such as hair weaves and toupees, or hair pieces attached with tape, perimeter hair bonding, clips, or weaving.

How Does THR™ Compare To Hair Systems?

Hair systems do not become a part of you, but are merely worn on top of your head or bonded to your existing hair producing bumps, ridges, and seams detectable to the touch.  Typically the use of a two-sided adhesive tape is required to hold the front of the hairpiece to the forehead.  This tape must be frequently changed, almost on a daily basis, making hair systems unpopular to those who desire a hassle-free and undetectable result.  Although the nylon mesh base of hair systems has thousands of holes to reduce heat retention, one problem endemic to hair systems is achieving natural density.  The density of a hair system has to be thicker than normal in order to hide the nylon mesh base into which the hair is knotted.  This excess density adds to heat retention, and the knotting of the hair produces a scalp image that does not appear completely natural.

With hair systems, the hair is knotted perpendicular to the base or mesh of the hair system.  There is no fixed angle; therefore, leaving the hair system unpredictable in its reaction to elements such as wind and water.

The hair system is attached to the healthy growing hair surrounding the balding area.  As the client's hair grows, the hairpiece becomes loose.  This outgrowth of hair compromises the security of the attachment.
